JAMES - OFFLINE EDITOR

MY ROLE
A film student’s final year film, I was brought in to get the best out of the material and subject matter.

THE STORY
Young James struggles as the outsider kid at his school. His teacher, Mr. Sutherland, the only person he feels he can connect with. When James finally puts a voice to his feelings, Mr. Sutherland's response isn't what James had hoped for.

ARMAGH GOTHIC - OFFLINE EDITOR/WRITER

MY ROLE
I was commisioned as a writer under the UKFC/Northern Ireland Screen's Deviate short film scheme for 05/06. I also offline edited the film.

THE STORY
When a foot and mouth cull wipes out a farming couples entire flock of sheep, bar one, they take drastic measures to ensure the farm stays afloat.

MESSAGES FROM MARIA - OFFLINE/ONLINE EDITOR

MY ROLE
This was one of 8 shorts commssioned as part of the UKFC/NI Screen 'Deviate' digital shorts program for 2006/07. I successfully delivered the scheme in the role of Post-Production Co-ordinator and edited 4 or the 8 films. I also created the motion graphic sting used before all the films in the series.


THE STORY
Frank, 22, is unemployed and still living at home with his Mother. When he finds out that Maria, a girl he has massive affection for, is in financial difficulty he attempts to win her heart by staging a daring daylight robbery - of his own house. However anything that can go wrong does, and Frank ends up wrecking his house, being exposed by his mother and shattering any chances he ever had with Maria.

ANKLES - OFFLINE EDITOR/ON SET CAPTURE TECHNICIAN

MY ROLE

The film used new technologies including 300fps slow motion. The camera used for the slow motion capture had an internal hard drive which could only hold one take at a time before being wiped when the camera stated rolling again. It was my job to ensure that any takes the director wanted to keep were transfered to tape before filing proceeded. I also offline edited the film and worked in collaboration with on-line editor Kevan O’Brien of Adobe Systems Incorporated.
